Over the weekend, many of our children were involved in services and parades to mark Remembrance Day.
Some marched in Beavers or Cubs parades, others watched their older siblings take part in services run by senior school CCF groups. Some simply attended church with their families.
Earlier in the week, the children learnt about why we mark Remembrance Day. They were taught about the significance of the poppy – one of the only plants to grow on the war-torn fields once the battles had ended.
Our junior children created the red poppies of this wreath and our infants provided the ‘leaves’ by drawing around the hands.
