One of our favourite times of the year at Willoughby School is Christmas! We usually invite parents to the village church to watch our nativity, but this year was a little different.

Due to COVID restrictions, we were unfortunately unable to gather as a full community; instead we filmed our nativity in the church for parents to watch at home, then treated them to some outdoor highlights!

From the resplendent Christmas angels, shepherds and kings of the traditional advent story, to the fun and festive KS2 dance, we all enjoyed putting together and performing this year’s Christmas show.

Our KS2 children sang Silent Night and entertained us with a festive dance to Sia’s Christmas hit, “Santa’s Coming for Us”; the parents also enjoyed singing along with the children to the classic Mariah Carey song, “All I want for Christmas”!

The nativity included our first ever donkey – why did it take us so long to include him in our nativity story?! The KS1 children did a wonderful job of retelling the story of Jesus’ birth, with some great acting and songs such as Knock Knock Knock, Three Kings are Riding  and An Angel Appeared in the Sky.

Thank you so much to all the parents for supporting our plans and for coming to see our playground performance. Thanks too to all the teachers who helped make it happen, and to Jake, our camaraman.
