We couldn’t be more proud of Isla, year 4, who took on a big charity challenge this year!

When two of Isla’s family friends were diagnosed with cancer, Isla started to think about just how challenging living with cancer must be – for both adults and children.

She found out about The Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes real-hair wigs for children and young people who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment, and decided to grow hers and donate it to the charity!

She also started holding book sales and cake sales to raise money to help fund the making of the wigs.

In November, Isla’s hair was finally long enough, so she took the plunge and had the big chop, with the whole school watching!

Her mum Kerry helped her organise a huge raffle, which along with her other efforts raised £1641.56!

Kerry said, “We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Isla and donated to this great cause.”

The whole school community is so proud of Isla and in awe of her magnificent achievement – she has been an inspiration to us all.

Well done, Isla!
