In the last few weeks, our KS2 children have been focusing on learning about the human body!

We were very pleased to welcome Mr Blount, one of our local Wolds Community First Responder, when he came in to school to teach KS2 about first aid.

The children were really interested to learn how to carry out CPR, using a speciallly designed dummy to practice on! They also found out how to use a defibrillator (we have one in the telephone box in Willoughby), as well as some basic first aid.

In science lessons, we’ve also been learning about the human body – specifically skeletons and muscles. The children made a model of the human arm, showing how the bicep and tricep muscles work to raise and lower the forearm.
