Each year we enjoy a themed week – learning about another country, its culture, history & language.

This year we chose Japan, and we’ve managed to pack a lot into a week – it has been great fun!

Throughout the week the teachers and some special guests taught the children about so many aspects of Japanese life, from origami and karate to art and numbers.

Everyone enjoyed a karate lesson with Mr Dornan:

The children also learnt how to count to 10 in Japanese and how to do origami.

They enjoyed painting a picture of Mount Fuji, designing a facts poster about Japan & even making a Carp Kite.

We were lucky enough to have former pupil Joseph Auty come in to tell us about his trip to Japan:

Years 5 & 6 made a ’10 facts about Japan’ PowerPoint & everyone loved dressing up with a Japanese theme on Friday!
