In Class 2, we launched our World War II topic in style, with children coming to school dressed as evacuees. The outfits were fantastic and helped bring history to life from the very start!

Through a range of exciting hands-on activities, pupils learned about life during World War II. They explored a timeline of key events, considered how children may have felt when leaving their homes, and discovered what evacuation was really like.

We were very fortunate to welcome Mr and Mrs Carpenter in to school, who shared their first-hand experiences of being evacuated at the start of the war. The children listened carefully to their fascinating stories and asked thoughtful questions. Some pupils also brought in wartime artefacts from home, giving everyone a chance to see and learn from real objects from the period.

To deepen their understanding further, pupils created Blitz artwork, exploring the impact of bombing on British cities and the strength and resilience shown by communities during the war.

It has been wonderful to see the children so engaged, curious and enthusiastic as they step back in time and learn about this important period in history.

We have a vacancy for an Office Manager. More details.
